One of the most famous helicopters to serve, the Bell UH-1 “Huey” was widely renowned for it’s adaptable and reliable nature.

Boasting revolutionary turbine power with the Lycoming T-53 powerplant, it was smooth, easy to maintain, and powerful.  Capable of troop transport, medevac, and gunship duties, the Huey excelled in every situation, heralding the famous “whop-whop-whop” rotor-noise above the battlegrounds. Produced to the tune of 16,000 units, it was not only prolific, but endlessly upgraded between 1956 and 1987 across the globe. Still flown during airshows as an iconic attraction, these war heroes have been through every imaginable circumstance, providing crucial capability that other helicopters would never match.

Assigned to the 57th Medical Detachment, this specific UH-1H Huey was tasked with medevac duties in Vietnam, serving between 1962 and 1973 from Tan Son Nhut Air Base. Creating the callsign “Dustoff” from their “Original Dustoff” motto, this aerial evacuation squad was the first to operate medical services from onboard the UH-1 Huey. Die-Cast version has a realistic paint scheme, etched panel lines, authentic rivet detailing, and pre-installed landing skids. Also includes a display stand to show the model in flight. Measures 7.5”l with an 8” rotor span at 1:72 scale.
