First flown in October of 1938, the Curtiss-Wright P-40 Warhawk was a single-engine, full-metal design modified from the predecessor P-36 Hawk.

Becoming operational by the start of WWII, it was the third most widely produced fighter to serve in the conflict, with 13,700 manufactured in just five years. Made famous by squadrons such as the Flying Tigers, this venerable fighter has been served its operators well, remaining beloved for decades beyond its retirement.

  • Features engraved panel lines, pad-printed decals, and authentic paint scheme.
  • Displays excellent surface detailing, see-through cockpit, and rotating propeller.
  • Includes retracted or deployed landing gear and display stand to show the model in flight.
  • Measures 5.25”l with a 6.5” wingspan at 1:72 scale.
  • Highly collectable.

Powered by the Alison V-1710 liquid-cooled engine, the P-40 had access to over 1,200 hp and weighed less than many contemporaries, but was not excellent at high-altitude. What the Warhawk did have instead was excellent handling, high dive speed, and durable airframe that resisted high-G maneuvers with ease. It was touted by many pilots as having little to no vices, providing adequate performance in nearly any situation, the true jack of all trades. Making use of these attributes, the P-40 had the firepower to back it up, with a set of three 0.50 caliber machine guns in each wing which were devastating to opponents.

Unique and wonderful, this P-40 is one of only five known in the world with the trainer configuration, named the “TP-40N” Warhawk. As the only one that can provide dual-seat instruction and also having scored aerial victories in the previous century, it is not only beloved, but prestigious. Sporting the number “55” and shark-teeth, it was salvaged from the ashes and now soars the skies above. Die-Cast version features this same authentic paint scheme, etched panel lines, and pad printed decals, along with a rotating propeller. Also includes retracted or deployed landing gear and display stand to show the model in flight. Measures 5.25”l with a 6.5” wingspan at 1:72 scale.
