Developed as the replacement for the Anglo-French Variable Geometry project of 1965, the Mirage 2000 is a fourth-generation multirole fighter. With ethos from the predecessor Mirage III design, the 2000 is a larger, modernized, Mach 2 capable successor to its delta-winged siblings. Introduced in the 1980s, it saw widespread use and export to Greece, India, and the UAE, with more than 600 manufactured by the late 2000s.

Featuring an enlarged version of the iconic “delta-wing” design, the new Mirage 2000N had up to 8 weapons pylons for air-to-air ordnance. Though it was a multirole fighter aircraft, common weapons loads include full set of air-to-air missiles, with the long range active-radar MICA missile in conjunction with the heat-seeking Magic II. For close in combat, a pair of 30mm DEFA 554 autocannons are installed under the fuselage, supported by an advanced heads-up display gunsight. For strike missions, an additional two pylons are available for anti-tank guided missiles, guided bombs, and anti-ship missiles, increasing the payload capacity to 14,000 lbs across all 10 hardpoints.

Assigned to EC 2/4 Armée de l'Air of Luxeuil-Saint-Sauveur Air Base, this Mirage 2000N performs tactical strike and patrol missions over France. Registered as #318 of BA-116, it displays a coat of arms on the underside and sharp teeth painted on the nose, with the low-visibility mottled green camouflage. Die-Cast version has an authentic paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, and precision crafted surface detailing. Also includes retracted or deployed landing gear, full set of press-fit weaponry, two types of engine nozzle, and metal display stand to show the model in flight. Measures 8.25”l with a 5.25” wingspan at 1:72 scale.
