History and Specifications:
Configured with the typical 150-170 passengers onboard and two crew members, the MD-90 was capable of flying nearly 2,000 miles nonstop. Stepping away from the traditional Pratt & Whitney powerplants, the back of the fuselage carries two IAE V2525 turbofans, which provide up to 30% higher thrust on takeoff. Not only that, but fuel consumption is also vastly decreased, superior to rival aircraft like the Airbus A320. Top speed is 582mph, altitude ceiling is 37,000ft, and maximum takeoff weight is 156,000 lbs. Featuring the vibrant “colors in motion” tail design of the early 2000s, this MD-90 was one of the last to be operated in late 2010s by Delta Air Lines. Registered as N910DN, it was delivered in 1995 as one of the most quiet and efficient airliners in the market, with twin-engines at the rear of the fuselage that lower noise in the cabin. Die-Cast replica has an authentic paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, and detailed landing gear. Measures 4”l with a 3.5” wingspan at 1:400 scale.
