As one of the most prolific helicopters in the world with over 4,000 manufactured, the type is both readily available and versatile in modern day conflicts.

Powered by the General Electric T700 engine, the Black Hawk is well equipped for multi-mission duties, with up to 9,000 lbs of payload or more than a dozen troops in capacity. Additionally, it can mount turrets for anti-infantry weaponry and rocket pods, which are often fired on pillboxes or fortifications. Defensively, the UH-60 demonstrates effective countermeasures systems, supported by both laser and missile-warning-receivers which alert the pilot of incoming threats. For passive protection, the aircraft also features upturned exhaust nozzles for decreased thermal signature and an automated health management system.

An improved version of its earlier UH-60 cousins, the MH-60L boasts an upgraded gearbox for increased lifting capacity and new multi-mode radar for combat operation. Additionally, this variant can perform aerial refueling, increasing loiter time and ferry range. In this configuration, it carries a pair of unguided rocket pods, and mounts two troop-operated machine gun turrets in each door.
