Developed as the successor of the A300 “B10” research concept, the A330 was a step into the future for Airbus in the commercial field.
Taking on the most powerful engines that could be sourced, it boasts excellent performance and high efficiency for modern operation. With a spacious and comfortable interior for passengers and cargo, it became successful for both medium and long-range flights with over 660 manufactured by 2024. Die-Cast version has an authentic paint scheme, etched and raised panel lines, pad-printed decals, and magnetic retracted or deployed landing gear with moving bogeys. Also includes a metal display stand with engraved plaque to show the model in flight configuration. Measures 11.5”l with a 12” wingspan at 1:200 scale.

History and Specifications:
Seating between 210 and 406 passengers onboard in a versatile dual-aisle configuration, the A330-200 is traditionally operated by a crew of two in the cockpit. On long distance trips, the type even has space for a rest area, with seven bunks for its crew to sleep in. Powering the aircraft is a pair of efficient Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines which create around 140,000 lbs combined thrust on takeoff, resulting in over 8,300 miles of range with full fuel onboard. Performance wise, the top speed is 541 mph, altitude ceiling is 41,000 ft, and maximum takeoff weight is 534,000 lbs. Upgraded to the A330-200 “Passenger-2-Freighter” specification in December 2023, this aircraft registered VH-EBE started life as a traditional commercial airliner. Following this extensive overhaul of the interior, it now carries up to 38 standard pallets across two decks, with up to 62 tonnes maximum payload and over 4,000 miles of non-stop range.
