The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II has received much praise and acclaim for its contributions all around the world, serving many nations and for an extended period of time. Even though its first flight was in May of 1958, the Phantom still serves in many countries active-duty Air Force, such as Greece and even previously Japan up until 2021. The aircraft was used extensively in Vietnam, where most people will recognize its iconic shape, serving as a frontline fighter for the United States. It carried a massive payload of ordinance, including guided and dumb bombs, rockets, air-to-ground missiles, and even feared air-to-air weapons such as the AIM-9 Sidewinder and the AIM-7 Sparrow missile.

This specific variant, the F-4E, was a massive upgrade to the previous C and D predecessors with a modified airframe, engines, and internal avionics. Upon entering service in 1967, thrust was around 5-7% higher than the original, with new leading edge wing slats which improved low speed stability and turn rate, adapting the angle of attack to reach maximum performance. Internally, the major changes included the new AN/APQ-120 radar set with a smaller antenna which made space for the addition of an internal cannon. The newly installed 20mm M61 Vulcan was the weapon of choice for the aircraft since its creation, but previous F-4C and D variants could only carry this as an external device, taking up room on the belly of the plane.

Featuring the 70 years of service livery for the 338th Hellenic Air Force squadron, this F-4E Phantom II is one of many delivered during 1974 to Greece as their mainline fighter. Since their arrival, numerous advancements have been made, including new radar units, avionics, and engine upgrades. Nearly 20 still remain in active duty, outfitted with the “AUP” avionics upgrade package that was developed for export operators. Die-Cast features engraved panel lines, an authentic livery, display stand, and accurate weaponry of this same prestigious F-4E Phantom II. Measures 10”l with a 6.5” wingspan at 1:72 scale.

  • Features a high-quality paint scheme, etched panel lines and pad printed decals that reflect its real-life counterpart.
  • All antennas, reflective lights, and surface details have been carefully added to the model.
  • Includes deployed or retracted landing gear, attachable missiles, fuel tanks, and display stand to show the aircraft in flight.
  • Has opening canopies with both Pilot and WSO figurines that can be placed in the cockpit.
  • Measures 10”l with a 6.5” wingspan at 1:72 Scale.
