The F-16A holds an unforgettable position in military aviation history, thanks to its multi-role versatility and profound influence on contemporary aerial combat. This limited edition PlaneTag is crafted from the air intake of '80542,' an F-16 Fighting Falcon that took flight on October 24, 1981, and was subsequently delivered to the 313 Tactical Fighter Squadron at Hahn Air Base, Germany, in December 1981. From 1981 to 1994, '80542' nobly served with multiple fighter squadrons, before being retired to AMARC at Davis-Monthan on March 29, 1994.
As a Block 15 model, an upgrade from the initial F-16 design, '80542' incorporated enhancements such as updated avionics and radar, augmented payload capacity, and compatibility with sophisticated weapons systems, increasing its efficiency in both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.
Please note that due to variations in metal and paint, each PlaneTag's color will slightly differ.
Today, the F-16 remains an indispensable tool in maintaining air superiority, with over 3,000 of them currently in operation in more than 25 countries. Now under the helm of Lockheed Martin, the F-16 Block 70/72 maintains this incomparable legacy, with deployments to five countries scheduled over the next few years, and numerous orders still pending.
Safety Warning: This product is not recommended for children under 8 years of age. It contains chemical-based paint which may cause respiratory irritation if ingested or inhaled in large amounts. Keep out of reach of children.
