Succeeding the venerable F/A-18C airframe, the advanced “Super Hornet” took on an improved shape, with sharpened surfaces, wider wingspan and lengthened fuselage.

Succeeding the venerable F/A-18C airframe, the advanced “Super Hornet” took on an improved shape, with sharpened surfaces, wider wingspan and lengthened fuselage. This major redesign may have altered the exterior look, but it still remains one of the longest lasting and capable aircraft across the globe. Protecting dozens of nations from enemy air or ground forces with advanced weaponry and sensor equipment, the formidable Super Hornet pulls up to 7.5Gs in a dogfight. Capable of runway or carrier operation, the F/A-18 is prepared for any needs, whether they be ground attack, air superiority, or combined engagements.

Measuring out to 60ft long with a 44ft wingspan, the Super Hornet is around 20% larger than its predecessor, with new General Electric F414-400 Turbofans that produce up to 20% higher thrust. Maximum combat range is around 500 miles, with up to 11 hardpoints and 18,000 lbs of payload capacity. Weapons include the formidable AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles for air-to-air engagements, air-to-ground weaponry like JDAM guided bombs, and AGM-88 HARM anti-radiation missiles. Augmenting the underwing weaponry is the single M61A Vulcan gatling-gun mounted in the nose, with 412 rounds of 20mm ammunition.

Operating for the VFA-32 “Swordsmen” of Naval Air Station Oceana, the F/A-18F Super Hornet is the wing’s mainline fighter. Highly decorated as a squadron, VFA-32 has received praise for its safety rating, flying over 7000 high-tempo hours with no mishaps. They also received the 2010 and 2012 Navy Safety Excellence Awards and have been deployed numerous times onboard the USS Harry S. Truman and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower carriers. Die-Cast version features engraved panel lines, pad printed decals, authentic livery, accurate attachable weaponry, and fuel tanks. Also includes optional landing gear and display stand to show the aircraft in flight. Measures 10”l with a 7.5” wingspan at 1:72 scale.

  • Features a high-quality paint scheme, etched panel lines and pad printed decals that reflect its real-life counterpart.
  • Antennas, reflective lights, and surface details have been carefully added to the model.
  • Includes deployed or retracted landing gear, open or closed canopy and a display stand to show the aircraft in flight.
