Recognized across the globe as one of the most fearsome and powerful aircraft of all time, the United States’ F-22 Raptor is a hallmark for the 5th Generation Fighter era. Taking the ethos of sharp angles, advanced fly-by-wire controls, and sophisticated datalink, the Lockheed proposal was extremely promising. Performing in numerous flight demonstrations and complex challenges, it would be a hard-fought battle for the contract. As the dust settled, the YF-22 would emerge victorious in the Advanced Tactical Fighter competition, defeating rival Northrop’s YF-23 and beginning its journey into history.

  • Features engraved panel lines, pad printed decals, and authentic paint scheme, with antennas, reflective lights, and surface details carefully replicated.
  • Includes deployed or retracted landing gear, opening canopy with pilot figurine, and display stand to show the aircraft in flight configuration.
  • Can be displayed with fully “clean” and closed weapons bays, or open with a full set of AIM-120 AMRAAM and AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles.
  • Comes with an additional four dual-rails of AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, AGM-158 JASSM cruise-missiles, and two underwing fuel tanks.

History and Specifications:
Featuring a radar absorbent “stealth” coating, thrust vectoring engines, and internal weapons bay, the Raptor cut no corners in the search of air superiority. With up to 6 of the deadly AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles and a pair of extremely agile AIM-9X Sidewinders, no foe was permitted an easy escape. Each of its thrust-vectoring Pratt and Whitney F-119 engines produced up to 35,000 lbs of thrust, permitting speeds up to 1500 mph, or Mach 2.25. Boasting a high power to weight ratio and excellent aerodynamic efficiency also lead to other benefits, such as extreme maneuverability and ability to “supercruise” at past the speed of sound without the use of fuel-thirsty afterburners! This characteristic is crucial, as it permits a larger combat radius in combat. Callsign “Raptor Zero-One”, this beautiful F-22A was the first of nine engineering examples to see the sky. Entrusted with data gathering and flight demonstration, it flew between 1997 and 2000 under the attention of test pilot Paul Metz. Thanks to their efforts, the first production F-22As entered service by 2003, attaining initial operation capabilities by 2005. Die-Cast version has an authentic paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, and precise surface detailing, with optional landing gear and display stand to show the model in flight. Also includes the full set of weaponry and moving tail surfaces! Measures 10.25”l with a 7.5” wingspan at 1:72 scale.
