History and Specifications:
Pioneering new technologies in aerospace engineering, the Lockheed F-16 Fighting Falcon was the first fighter jet with direct hydraulic or electronic control surfaces, the first aerodynamically unstable aircraft to see production, and one of the fastest single engine aircraft in the world. Incorporating an aerodynamically unstable configuration and fly-by-wire control system, the advanced jet was prepared to take on even the most powerful adversaries. Since 1973, over 4,600 of the type have been manufactured, with modern variants still in service across the globe. Receiving numerous upgrades in the last few decades, the aircraft has since become a hallmark of aviation engineering.
